Asian Architecture

This module explores the history of South, Southeast and East Asian architecture mostly in terms of architectural design and construction, building science and technology, garden design and city planning through sustainability, tradition and modernity. 

Project 1 - Part A

This project introduces students to the framework of the contextual architecture in Asia and how we can apply this research into our studio designs. This is a group project divided into 2 parts: Part A - Contextual architectural study and Part B - Case study paper. 

In Part A, each student are to conduct analysis on the selected building's contextual architecture elements. The selected building is the Kawana House by Foster+Partners.

Project 1 - Part B

In a group, students are required to identify the specific topic/issues/significance of study and define specific scope of study. Students are required to produce detailed analysis of the building and its context in a report format.
