Project 2: Still rendering with light, camera views and site context

Creating contours in Rhino. Firstly, I create contour lines using Rhino's curving lines according to the site. Then contour lines are raised into their respective positions. Planar planes are created for each contour level and they are draped over.

Materials are added to the building in 3ds Max. Opacity is adjusted for windows and glass railings. Texture is added onto the contours. A large plane is created right below the building as the ocean. A water material is added onto the plane.

Bump maps are added to enhance the realism of the textures. After that, sunlight is adjust by using the daylight function on the software. The sunlight is freed to move and the position of the light source is repositioned in different places to experiment lighting on the building. The building is rendered through a camera view.

The rendered image is improved and enchanced visually using photoshop. The texture on the terrain is improved. A forest is added as a background to make the image look more realistic. Photos of palm trees are added into the image. The image is improved by manipulating the lighting. Shadow is then applied on the image by turning the tree dark and distorting the image. A cutout of a person standing is inserted in the photo and modified to fit the environment.
