Interior Renderings

Using the target camera tool, I positioned the camera towards the view that I want to render. I chose the tidal pool area as it contains a specific feature whereby the user is able to view the sunset. The camera is positioned to face towards the large window, pool and the corner wall. Then, i created a sphere as a light bulb and created a light source. It is a spherical light source that is also pointed towards the floor. I also created a mental ray sky portal in front of the window so that more light will be shining towards the interior.

The intensity of the light source was adjusted to fit the space. Besides that, the water on the pool was created using autodesk water as its material. Then, I placed different light sources in the pool. Its intensity was adjusted and copied around the pool. The placement of the sun was also altered to fit the space. Not only that, a slight relectance was also added to the window.

As for my second render, I chose courtyard/living room as I thought it might be interesting to view during the daytime. I placed my target camera and adjusted the view. Then, i placed two mental ray sky portal so that more light will be absorbed towards the room.

I search for 3D funitures online and placed them in my space to create a function in them. I imported each furniture, scaled, rotated and apllied the right material for each of them. Not only that, I experimented on the postition of the sun and how it can affect the room the way I intend it to. Like the previous rendering, the environment was adjusted to as an outdoor daylight.

Test renderings were made. Light from previous room inside the building also affect the lighting in the courtyard. After choosing the best view, I adjusted the render quality to high and rendered.

Post-production is applied to both renders. The television image is distorted and rescaled to fit into the television screen. Brightness and constrast of the images are also adjusted. A sillhoutte of a person sitting on the couch is inserted into the image by selecting and pasting the sillhoutte. As for the tidal pool room, brightness and contrast is adjusted. A night sky and ocean is added into the window area. Layer style of the window area is altered to make it look like a more realistic window glass.
